Axl's Catch Groove

I am a long-time fan of George Clinton and his various bands (collectively known as P-Funk).

Crossover bluegrass stars have come and gone (David Grisman, Alison Krauss, Béla Fleck, etc.), and new stars have emerged (Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, Greensky Bluegrass, etc.).

I heard all the indie hype around Punisher (Bridgers’ 2020 breakout).

Photo by Catchgroove I approached seeing Willie Nelson at his Outlaw Music Festival as the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae that was the other six festival acts.

Mick and Keith are 82-year-old rock stars.

Joe Lovano Quartets: Live at the Village Vanguard Blue Note (1995) I have come to reappreciate CDs after the recent purchase of a new DAC.

As I look over my list of the best of the year so far, I need to admit that these are not necessarily the best albums of 2026, but the ones I liked enough to buy a physical copy (vinyl is my preferred choice).

For a jam band, Goose makes great studio albums.

BK-ONE WITH BENZILLA Rádio Do Canibal Rhymesayers Entertainment RSE0114-2 2009 I got a new DAC for the Loop Sessions, and I am getting acquainted with it by listening to various albums that I think will reveal its strengths and weaknesses.

Jeff Parker is an interesting cat.

Schiit Mimir Balanced Mesh DAC, EQ, and Preamp with Forkbeard How does Mimir sound?

Genesis circa 1972: L-R: Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Peter Gabriel, and Steve Hackett I have never been a Genesis fan – I am not a hater, just never taken the time to dig into their catalog.
