BigBoxCollection

Joining forces with GOG.com for bringing some of my 3D boxes over to their store made some waves on social media and news outlets.

Yeah, I'm downsizing, but there's always room for more Monkey Island!

As part of our collaboration of bringing 3D boxes to GOG.com we've had an interview about collecting games and how big box games fit into today's digital world.

It's always fun when something goes full circle.

Wait, shouldn't there be over a thousand games here?

Ever felt you want to have a teeny-tiny minature big box of your favorite game sitting on your desk?

Tom Hawking sent me a mail after stumbling upon BigBoxCollection.com and he wrote a neat little blog entry for Gizmondo about it :-)

Back home from X party and of course, I've found some games there that just had to be added to my collection.

Grabbed a copy of Final Doom via local classifieds.

Found two packages on our doormat today: some strange keys and (finally) a copy of Pirates Gold \o/

Three C64 games arrived today, waiting to be added to the virtual collection Stoked having Rolling Ronny on my shelf, especially as an update (dubbed Ronny Rollback by v3to) is currently in the works.

Added some sketches to Diablo II

Lots of profile pics added/updated for the Artists page.

Re-scanned the Fallout box and finally replaced those green tinted pics from yesteryear.

Surprise!

Impromptu live beta test session of Street Sports Pogo at last weekend's BCC Party #20 in Berlin.

Went to my first C64 demo party BCC Party #20 and came home with a bunch of boxed games.

Here's the first bit about Street Sports POGO that was published in Freeze64

Latest issue of Freeze64 had some "Freezing Hot Pogo News" and the Pixel Punx are loving it :-) Grab it from CSDb.dk

It's not out yet, but I just couldn't wait sharing the box and thus I've kinda gone full circle with BigBoxCollection.com by uploading myself to the virtual shelf O.O

Oha, Jabba has a non Euclidean space ship.

A behind-the-scene photo teaser thingy.

Completed the fantastic Outlaws by LucasArts.

Don't know how the Switch 2 is scaling things up here, but it looks fantastic.

Real life Tetris

And another poster made up with GFX from my C64 PETSCII demo "Scan And Spin" for celebrating 10 years of BigBoxCollection.com.

Took my C64 PETSCII demo "Scan And Spin" that I've made for celebrating 10 years of BigBoxCollection.com and turned it into a poster.

I know, the 10th anniversary is still a month away but I just had to release my C64 demo early because it was finished and I couldn't hold myself back any longer.

I'm used to playing Star Wars on my arcade cab these days, so revisiting it on C64 and a joystick sucks bit time; plugging in a mouse smoothes things out, but IMHO is just plain cheating.

I do love boxes with gatefold covers and cutouts and both are supported here for their 3D versions.

Hand full of folios.

Woohoo!

Slowly getting there, only the following games on my stack: AotD 2 (inkl 1 & JitD) Archimedean Dynasty Black Mirror III: Final Fear Blue Force Captain Blood Cyberia Cyberia 2 Death or Glory (C64) Drakensang Flashback: The Quest for Identity Gender Wars In…

Back in January 2024, Marion from Michigan, US got in touch with me after having read about BigBoxCollection.com over at PCGamesN.

Not sure why, but my Realms disk has Conan shining through?

OK, click & zoom on your own risk: Shelf PS: No filter nor order options yet, but they're on my ToDo list.

All 921 games on a single poster?

Working on bringing back the ol' shelf view from 2015.

No more room for big boxes, but squeezing in a folio is always possible!

Your hobby is making videos about old games?

I've been researching artists for a while now and guess what, I'm somewhat done for now and integrated all the data not only in the filter but also into the various box views as well as an overview page.

Fate of Atlantis, the comics.

These two books arrived today.

Scanning... brrrr...

Fantastic article in RetroGamer magazine load 267: The Making of Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord.

Yay for high resolution jokes.

Here's a list of all the boxes from 2024 that I have not yet come around to scan and upload.

2024 had been a busy year and started off with a bang and it does show in the growth statistic of my collection.

The Media info got an update and does now list additional content in form of books, comics or strategy guides too.

Over at BlueSky, OriginalVideoGameArt.com commented on a post sharing the artist responsible for the Fade to Black box.
