Dude! Take Your Turn!

I normally don’t do Kickstarters for games out of the blue, sticking with tried and true companies and game series that I enjoy.

Sometimes when you’re sitting in line somewhere and you just don’t want to doom scroll BlueSky or read your e-book that you’ve got on your phone, you just want a little mindless phone app action instead.

We’re now on the downward slope heading to the 10,000 level of games ranked on Boardgame Geek.

Some games of Combat Commander are kinetic romps where both sides are attacking, taking losses, taking over territory, maybe losing territory.

It’s another Friday night, so time for some stream of consciousness writing about a boardgame topic that makes me happy.

We’ve hit the 5000 mark in our examination of the Boardgame Geek game rankings, one century of games a week, and it feels quite cool, actually.

September looked like it was going to be very dry in the “new to me games” system, with only one going into the last two weeks.

We’ve all played those games before.

My September gaming wasn’t quite as huge as August, but it was still pretty good.

Even closer to 5000 on the Boardgame Geek ranking system, the pickings of played games are getting slim!

I was going to leave my Friday post to be the Tag Team review that posted yesterday.

There have been a few “auto-battler” card games out in the last few years, most notably Challengers (which is a huge multiplayer tournament romp if you do it right).

We’re getting close to the 5000 mark on this look at centuries of Boardgame Geek game rankings, and one thing is becoming clear: I haven’t played a lot of these as we get deeper!

Sometimes when you’re playing one of the most fun games on the planet (a slight exaggeration, but not much!)

Relatively quick card games are my bread and butter on work lunches, though of course we also make time for some other shorter games (like Cascadia).

After a week where I literally had not played any of the games in the Boardgame Geek century I was talking about, this week is going to be huge!

Double post day today, but I didn’t remember that the Garphill Games announcement Youtube was going live today.
