It's been a busy month - with family events, a date night, a meetup, a camping trip and reading.
-
Last weekend I took Jack on his first cycle camping adventure.
-
A few photos taken on Blackford Hill of the eclipse last night:
-
A quick and late update for a quiet month.
-
Another month, another set of month notes.
-
In June we took at trip out to the south of France for a two week family holiday, the first part of which was with H's parents.
-
I feel my month notes updates are getting shorter and less timely.
-
I had booked a week off work without any particular plans for what to do.
-
Spring sprung in Edinburgh and April was a month of relaxation and getting our flat in order.
-
February was sleepless, and the start of March was no better.
-
At the end of March I headed over to the top of Loch Lomond to camp at Beinglas campsite and spend a couple of days walking with Aileen.
-
February flew by.
-
[Watch embedded video on YouTube] In my December update I had said we had relaxed over Christmas and New Year, although it had been "mostly exhausting".
-
December wa a family month with outings to Portobello and to The Botanics.
-
I started the month with a weekend with Jack as Harriet was away with Rory.
-
So I should probably lead with the big news of the month: H and I are engaged!
-
It's been a whirlwind of a month since we welcomed Rory at the end of August.
-
Welcome to the world Rory.
-
This month note is late, but for good reason.
-
I ticked off a bucket list band, seeing AC/DC at Murrayfield.
-
This will be quite a short update for July as it's been a month of churning through regular life tasks, and getting the flat ready for our new arrival at the end of August.
-
I started the month with a lovely break to London with Harriet.
-
I spent the weekend down in Harrogate staying with Aileen.
-
A fun afternoon out for the solstice at the Interval Running Shop event - run from the shop to the top of Arthur's Seat to complete their Strava segment, get your name on the board.
-
We had a lovely trip to London at the end of May - a rare weekend away as a couple.
-
One of the things that I appreciated most in May was the family time we spent together.
-
April has been a bit of a slog.
-
Spring has arrived in Edinburgh, and March has been a packed month.
-
The month kicked off with H doing another run of nights.
-
I didn't feel like I had a full go at a week in January: it was a balancing act between unexpected family obligations, new work and trying to implement some new year resolutions.
-
December was a fairly relaxed month, despite starting a new role with a client.
-
I started the month on my bike with a wee trip to Pitlochry.
-
On Saturday I ran the Glentress Winter series 10k trail run.
-
I had an unexpected couple of days free at the start of November.
-
It's a fairly short update this month.
-
In late September, we decided to take a few days break over in Fife.
-
I started off the month with a trip down to Kirkcudbright to see my parents.
-
I took a day off today - I joined Gordon and Amy at Belhaven Bay near Dunbar.
-
August was relaxed.
-
July was a bit of a write-off, and I've spent a good few weeks into August deferring the writing of this post.
-
I kicked off June by heading down to London for a few days with Tadas to attend SaaStr 2024, a conference for software as a service technology businesses.
-
H and I had our first holiday with just the two of us since Jack was born.
-
May was a busy month.
-
I started the month heading out climbing with Daniel - it's been years (a decade?)
-
We took a short hike today at Balcary Bay near Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway.
-
March was a lot better than February for sleep.
-
Goodbye to February, in which my sleep suffered, but we did more at the weekends.
-
We seem to have crammed a fair amount in to January.
-
Turns out I was right when I thought December would be a "big rush".
-
Harriet and I spent the day wandering around near Craster on the Northumberland coast.
