I’m on the train home after another weekend in Essex sorting out the parental house and I nearly forgot to write this.

Home alone all week (plus the cat) and not really in the mood for writing, so in brief: I finally sorted out a big pile of old paperwork I brought back from Essex months and months ago.

I’m tapping this out on the phone on the train back home at Monday lunchtime, after a weekend in Essex with my sister doing more sorting out of the old family home.

Another couple of very hot days this week, made bearable by knowing it wasn’t going to last long this time.

Sorting through our dad’s (John Gyford) papers we found a few bits of paperwork from his father which seem like a nice collection of things about him and, to a lesser extent, his wife, Ethel Gyford (née Roper), our grandmother.
