about 15 or so years ago my father had an apple xserve for his business (remember back when there was a server version of mac os?).

i’ve had this thought for a while to fully migrate my cloud VPS to the homelab. i got into the whole #homelab bubble in early 2025 when i bought a GMKtec G3 Plus mini pc. it’s been a great nerd playground setting up NixOS and k3s. last year i added a Leno…

if you’re working in a decently large organization, one common phrase will be “ask XYZ”. this may have worked on old hierarchical in-person teams, where you could walk over ask the person at lunch in the cafeteria. however, i’d argue it’s a really bad anti

if you go back and remember sports in school, it was highly unmotivating – at least for me. i wasn’t particularly “good” at whatever they were trying to make us do. being in the early to mid-30s, it’s now easy to connect the dots looking backwards: it cou…

-
A short, but interesting boat tour brought us from the capital Paramaribo further out to explore the historic plantations of Commewijne.

Looking back, Suriname has been a very interesting holiday.
