As a follow-up to the similar milestone reached for our WSL image a few months ago, I’m happy to share that Arch Linux now has a bit-for-bit reproducible Docker image!

Hey everyone!

I’m happy to share a great milestone I worked on and that we’ve been able to recently reach: The Arch Linux WSL image is now bit-for-bit reproducible!

…and it is officially (re)distributed by Microsoft!

Fellow Arch Linux mate kpcyrd recently published a “2024 recap” blog post which (in addition of being a really cool, interesting and impressive read) inspired me to write my own.

Alpine packaging tooling are now available in the Arch Linux [extra] repository!

Context As you probably already know by now, a backdoor / security vulnerability has been recently discovered in xz.

Context I recently woke up with a non-working network connection in my house, both internet and LAN accesses were down.
