As the hysteria randomly triggered by Jason Coxon’s resignation hopefully dies down I find myself lifting my head from my usual fixation on everyday resistance and glancing around a bit.

One of the (many) interesting aspects of watching resistance to AI grow and develop is seeing the many and varied shapes it forms into.

The AI story of the week has been the resignation of Jacob Coxon, an Anthropic researcher who went out in a blaze of very media friendly glory as he left the company.

After a bit of a hiatus as I focused on ‘proper’ work I’ve finally gotten round to finishing this off.

Timely given that I was writing the other day about non-consensual content being, perhaps, one of the key trigger points for anti-AI resistance but I just wanted to recommend a couple of podcasts that came out recently.

It’s odd but I’ve been sitting here most of the day trying to hammer a piece of writing into some form of coherency.

Over the last year or so the enthusiasm for the anti-data centre push back has increasingly blossomed into a broader sense of enthusiasm for anti-AI resistance.

Like most of us who take a critical stance on AI (from abolitionist to reformist) I don’t spend a massive amount of time dwelling on the more religious objections to it.
