Nick vs Networking

I was at a conference the other day and almost watched someone from a large WiFi AP get to fisticuffs with someone from the cellular industry about the upper 6Ghz band.

Recently there’s been some really fun projects to resurrect telecom protocols and standards that are (rightfully) almost dead – like 1xBTS.

In the past I setup FreeRADIUS, BRASes, framed IPs and the like.

I wrote not to long ago ruing the fact I’d never done 3G, and despite the fact I own a bunch of 3G Small Cells, all purchased with the ambition of getting UMTS up and running, never having succeeded.

Sometimes I wonder how much crack kit vendors and operator's marketing teams smoke, and if they ever talk to end users...

For a long time I’ve run my own backups to a portable hard drive using Duplicity / Dejavu.

I was recently asked by a potential customer if we supported Gx over Gy.

There’s a cool feature in PFCP that allows you to redirect traffic, which I’ve written about before.

PFCP includes a “Redirect Information” IE, which if set, allows you to change the forwarding action in PFCP to Redirect traffic.

I rooted my WebOS TV.
