In addition to the ever-important direct sales of The Best Science Fiction of the Year: 2025 that you can order at Wyrm Publishing (all print copies will be signed, US orders only), you can also currently order copies from: EPUB: Amazon, Bookshop.org, B&N,

I am very pleased to announce that Wyrm Publishing is currently taking US-based* preorders for The Best Science Fiction of the Year: 2025.

I wanted to get today’s installment out there quickly because I’ve been seeing a lot of publishers/editors putting themselves at risk.

I’ve been working on a series of posts that have to do with issues related to “AI” and short fiction (particularly in light of some events of the last month) that I plan to post as I finish them.

I traveled out to California for the Locus Awards last weekend and was pleasantly surprised to win the Locus Award for Best Editor and to have Clarkesworld win for Best Magazine.

In 2025, we received 14,805 submissions and averaged 1,233 per month.

Help us select the 2025 finalists for our annual Clarkesworld Readers’ Poll.

In early September, I will be a guest at this year’s Bulgacon, held in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria.

I shared this video of a Cooper’s Hawk enjoying the pool we set up for our wildlife on Bluesky and people wanted to know more about the setup. https://neil-clarke.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/cooper-1.mp4 We started doing this a couple of years ago.

Later this month I’ll be attending the Seattle Worldcon.

Since I’ve been trying to learn more about marketing, I’ve been paying closer attention to ads for all sorts of products.
