Ben Affleck just sold his AI company to Netflix for half a billion dollars.

Back in the 2010s after winning all those design awards, I started getting asked by London museum curators about the types of digital design work they should be collecting and exhibiting.

I find myself haunted by this notification.

Not something I expected to be saying today, but The Verge have made a 15min deep dive video into my blog post from the summer about modern walkmans being bulky.

This summer I designed some slides for Ella’s talk at The Conference about what magic can teach us about AI.

Honestly stoked to see the Future Art Ecosystems book series (which I creative directed and designed the first volume) on display at Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst’s amazing Serpentine show, The Call.

Like a lot of you I first got interested in technology through audio equipment.

I take endless photographs of design, interfaces and typography with my phone.

So I haven’t written anything on here for a year and a half.

Picking up the electronic music theme some more, Sean Booth from Autechre has done a couple of AMA sessions on Twitch recently which have covered some interesting stuff relating to our thing.

Last summer FACT did an Against The Clock film with Rian Treanor and Mark Fell.

Nike just announced some new interesting new sneakers.

Haven’t been writing much recently.

Since we published the Command Line Interface Guidelines we’ve had a few requests on Discord and Twitter from people asking us to open source the Hugo theme so they can use it for their own projects.

Back in November I designed a tshirt with Ralph to raise some money for Blocfit climbing wall in Brixton to help them through the pandemic.

One of the many weird things about this year has been having extended breaks from spending time in the sort of businesses I would otherwise visit on a daily basis.
