Years ago, when I was in what was supposed to be my final year of University, I decided to drop out of engineering.

Hello people, long time no chat!

Playstack and I recently partnered with Fangamer to create an official Balatro themed playing card deck.

It’s been approximately 3 years since I began work on Balatro - and in that time I have personally documented almost nothing about the journey.

I have cited a few games as inspiration for Balatro in the past, but I wanted to talk about one in particular that hasn’t been mentioned much that arguably is the most important.

Lately I have been able to look back on a surreal chapter of my life with a bit more clarity and appreciate how remarkable this time has been.
