Listen Of The Day

Kevin Morby is maybe not a name you know.

I had not heard about Nick Bostrom’s “paperclip maximizer” thought experiment before today, so the pun in the name of John Howes’ IDM robot-dub-trap moniker was lost on me.

An epic tale of the cruel sea, from a Norwegian studio project that uses a wide array of styles to tell its story.

Another dose of beautiful calm for you today.

Owusu’s 2023 album Struggler was one I really liked (though I guess I didn’t have much to say about it when it was my listen of the day).

Naomi Udu, aka Hemlocke Springs, apparently started making bedroom-producer-style pop songs while doing bio-med graduate work at Dartmouth.

The Week That Has Been I’ve made a point this year of not letting this be a new releases blog that ends up with me just talking about what I found this week in the new music Friday churn.

A rapper with a live band behind him is no big thing.

I like a good variety in what I listen to.

I’m not sure where I heard about this one.
