  1. if you write any OCaml you probably have heard of Riot: an actor-model multi-core scheduler for OCaml 5. the gist is that it lets you spin up many actors that can run concurrently or in parallel across many cores, and they communicate via message passing.

  2. Exceptions are Ok

I used to see Exceptions in OCaml as a panic in Rust.

  3. If you've ever had to parse anything, (anything really), I want to show you a glimpse of what it could look like when you parse it binary string pattern matching, like you'd do on Erlang, Elixir, or Gleam.

  4. Recently I was working on a socket pool for a new scheduler for OCaml 5 (multicore baby!)

  5. This will be a short one, but I hope it'll make you want to go refactor everything.

  6. I've been seeing some more posts about how to use and when to use GADTs.

  7. Hello folks!

  8. We're gonna start this blog easy with something tiny that bugged me for a long time: making sets.

  9. Yesterday I had a chat with my great friend @jularase yesterday about building, and what to build, and how we build.

  10. One of the great things about writing ReScript is that even if you code as fast as you can and with zero afterthought or planning, you'll end up with a solid codebase that you can refactor very safely.

  11. In the last part of this series we learned how the compiler finds the types of variables.

  12. The first step to getting the type checker to work for you is to understand how it works, what work it can and can't do.

  13. Yeah, this is going to be one of those pieces.

  14. In this issue, we're going to implement a small library in both TypeScript and ReScript, a TypeScript alternative.

  15. Last time we saw how to get started with a small project that would print out Hello, Deno!.

  16. Since the rebrand of ReScript, it no longer has a blessed way for building and distributing ReScript tools as native applications.

  17. In the past 5 years, I've worked at and with 4 companies that worked heavily with metadata.

  18. NOTE: This started as an OCaml type-system thing and ended up as a library design and documentation copy UX thing.

  19. Hello there!

  20. An Imaginary Compiler

    Heads up!
