J.Q. Whitcomb – trumpet

The annual jazz fest is happening this week in Cork.

Here’s an excellent video by Steve Elkins of the premier of Digging the Well from the summer of 2016.

I am proud to announce that I have been commissioned by the New Mexico Jazz Workshop to compose and arrange a piece for jazz quintet to celebrate the Workshop’s 40th anniversary this year.

I didn’t make it to the awards ceremony, but I heard from various friends who were there (and later confirmed on the NMMA website) that my song Always a Reason from my 2014 album Tales of Enchantment won the award for best jazz song!

A nice new review of my new album released earlier this year was just published on All About Jazz.

I will pay tribute to the great trumpeter Woody Shaw in a concert I’m producing on August 1 in Santa Fe at the Center for Spiritual Living.

The new CD has arrived!

Kickstarter Campaign a success!

I have just launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the creation of my new album.

I’ve just confirmed with Tom G that I will be having a CD release party/concert at the Outpost on May 15 to celebrate the release of my new album.
