Radically Happy

Is now trapped /
Away from her family /
On the other side /
Of the river of forgiveness…

And I am delighted / To be the bait / That draws them / To their destruction…

That prevents people /
From receiving /
Your reality /
Of perfect Communion /
With their Other…

Washing away /
My sin /
Their sin /
Your sin…

Because / I am thirsty // And have nothing / Left to lose...

Was just /
The shallow echo /
Of chains breaking /
From eternity…

And everyone else /
Dare not defend me /
Lest their own secret sins /
Be called into question…

And the thrill / Of having power / Over me // Because / They have no power / Over their own lives...

Where a certain class of women / And their young // All white // Come every week...

All the need / For survival / Status / Success // That powered me / Is gone...

And finally /
Find unity /
And alignment /
In opposing me…

But my roots /
Stretch up /
Into heaven…

The pillars of this world /
Collapse onto me /
Like Samson…

The pillars of this earth... // Are collapsing / Under the weight / Of Christ’s / Body and Blood...

Covering the land /
With His Body /
And His Blood…

Because /
I am too busy /
Holding onto the car /
For dear life…

Also from love /
For those who don’t know /
To Whom they belong…

Yet /
Sometimes I wonder /
If I’m just running in circles /
In the desert…

Was the blood-soaked ground /
My body /
And tree /
Died in…

Leading the resurrected /
In a song of lament /
For me…

He is teaching /
His resurrected ones /
To build a covered bridge /
Across the chasm /
I could not cross…

Yet He is not / Letting me die // He is / Inviting me to die...

Can find /
Each other /
A way out /
The way home /
Their calling /
Their glory…

All the dead /
Who drink from it /
Are returned to life…

Telling them / The Good News / They were desperately / Waiting for / But dared not believe...

Many /
Of His faithful followers /
Guard the place /
Of His remains…

By rich men /
Who loved Him /
Slightly less /
Than their own lives…

Hanged /
In disgrace /
In the public square…

He is... blindfolded. // Being marched / Up to a gallows...
