NIH has confirmed what I was just pondering, as rumored on BlueSky.

A rumor on bluesky suggests perhaps the enhanced triage procedures will continue for NIH grant review.

The NIH issued NOT-OD-26-088 Request for Information (RFI) on Proposed Changes to Reporting Outcomes from NIH Peer Review on 8/14/2026.

A news account of a new NIH grant funded at North Carolina A&T University blew past on Bluesky, I got grumpy about the lack of specificity about the grant, one thing led to another and I started digging.

I got to ranting on the bluski recently and said something about dilution in the context of purported fixes for situations of bias or discrimination.
